MINE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT AT THIN STEEPLY DIPPING URANIUM ORE BODIES

A brief characteristic is given for Priargunsky Mining and Chemical Works operating Streltsovsky uranium-bearing ore field.
The systems of mining with sublevel stoping and horizontal slicing, as well as their use conditions are discussed. The sublevel stoping system is used in individual blocks in thin steeply dipping uranium ore bodies. The bottlenecks of this system are specified, and the way of improving the system application is proposed by the experts of Priargunsky Mining and Chemical Works and VNIPIPT Engineering Center.
Based on a skeleton model, a block model of block 4a-703 had been built, which allowed optimizing geological reserves per block at the set content of uranium and reduced volume of development and face-entry drivage.
The worked-out draft project for preparation and development of block 4а-703 has shown the way of efficient mineral mining using domestic-manufacture machinery—load–haul–dumpers PD-2E and drill units UBSh-221.
