INTERACTION OF AEROPHINE 3418A AND BUTYL XANTHATE WITH PYRRHOTITE AND PENTLANDITE AT FLOTATION OF COPPER-NICKEL ORE

The results of studies of electrochemical properties of platinum black, pentlandite and pyrrhotite in solutions of Aerophine 3418A and butyl xanthate as well as extraction-photometric studies of the adsorption forms of reagents on the pyrrhotite and pentlandite are given. It is shown that the shift of electrode potential and, consequently, the chemical interaction decreases in the series: platinum black – pentlandite – pyrrhotite. The basic form of adsorption on pentlandite and pyrrhotite as well as butyl xanthate is a molecular form, which is an order of magnitude greater than the adsorption in the form of compounds of the collectors with the metals on mineral surface. Flotation activity of reagents, containing diisobutyldithiophosphinate, relatively to the pyrrhotite and pentlandite was investigated.
