PECULIARITIES OF DEFORMATION OF SURROUNDING ROCK MASS AROUND ROAD-WAYS IN NONUNIFORM FIELD OF TECTONIC STRESSES IN TERMS OF COAL BED B-12, SEVERNAYA MINE, URALUGOL

Support design is substantiated for a coal mine under conditions of relatively high tectonic stresses. The situation is complicated by highly damaged enclosing rock mass of coal bed B-12 in Severnaya Mine of Uralugol and the related variability of stresses, instability and nonuniformity of roof rocks and high displacement of roof rocks in the course of drivage.
The data on measurements of horizontal and vertical stresses in rock mass, physico-mechanical properties, structure and jointing of roof rocks are presented. These source data were included in the numerical modeling of stress state of the enclosing rock mass around roadways, and the parameters of rock disintegration zone were obtained. The results of the endoscopic examination of boreholes totally confirmed the predicted parameters of the discontinuity zone in roof rocks.
The measured displacements in the course of production face advance are given in the article. Based on the implemented research, the recommendations on roadway construction and support design have been made for coal bed B-12 of Severnaya Mine, Uragol.
