RESOURCE-SAVING ENERGY SOURCES AND STORAGE UNITS FOR SELF-CONTAINED POWER SUPPLY

In focus of the study are the prospects of resource-saving improvement using renewable energy sources and storage units in systems of self-sustained power supply as well as continuation of the research in the area of hydrogen and conversion of diesel-powered mining machines to hydrogen fuel. The modern renewable energy sources and storage units allow enhancement of resource-saving, environmental safety and energy efficiency and reduction in diesel fuel consumption in mining industry. The approaches to the improvement of energy efficiency in mining industry using combined power plants (KESU) with supercapacitors are discussed. The proposed engineering solutions will enable essentially better resource-saving, energy efficiency and environmental safety, and will allow reducing diesel fuel consumption by 50–70 %.
