MODEL OF UNBLADED ROAD TRAFFIC IN OPEN PIT MINES

One of the stages in mineral mining process is haulage of rocks from an open pit mine to a processing site by motor transport and complicated pathways. Correct combination of speed and safety of traffic flow ensures the best economic efficiency of haulage.

In order to provide safe haulage of rocks using unbladed roads, it is necessary to know dynamic characteristics of transport, such as rigidity, viscosity, frequency of free vibrations in vertical and transverse directions, which are compulsory and not included in ratings, as a rule.

This problem can be solved wholistically by means of preliminary experimental determination of the dynamic characteristics of a vehicle and numerical calculation of its nature of motion.

The article describes the method to determine dynamic characteristics of transport and the model of the unbladed road traffic.

The method is based on the asynchronous dropping of a vehicle from a certain height when each wheel can move by its own law.

The mathematical model uses the Lagrange equation of motion and the D’Alembert’s principle. The model adequately describes traffic flow on unbladed roads, including roll-over.
