LAYOUT AND ARRANGEMENT OF PARKING HOUSES IN DEVELOPMENT OF UNDERGROUND SPACE IN UNBUILT CITY AREAS

The layout and arrangement alternatives for underground tunnels meant for permanent storage of vehicles and recommended for operation in ground conditions in the area of mid-size towns/cities are presented. In plan view, these layouts present system of parallel horizontal tunnels including an adit, drifts, vehicle storage rooms and maintenance rooms. The comparative analysis of the technical and economic indexes and their variation depending on the number of parking spots in the developed general plans shows that it is efficient to arrange rooms either on one side or on two sides of a tunnel. The proposed utilization index for the underground space is the best in the two-side arrangement of the rooms. The ecologo-economico-technological model of design solutions on the construction of parking houses from the viewpoint of the urban infrastructure development is implemented. The efficiency criterion of design solutions takes into account incomings from sale of car spots, minerals and raw materials, as well as expenditures connected with the parking house construction, equipment and operation. Selection of an efficient layout and arrangement of tunnel-type parking houses constructed by the underground method, using the land topography makes it possible to cut down the volume and cost of construction-and-assembly work and to shorten the building period.
