METHODS TO PREDICT AND ESTIMATE RESIDUAL AND TECHNOLOGICAL CONCENTRATIONS OF URANIUM ORE IN IN-SITU LEACHING MINING

The geological, geophysical and geotechnical data of boreholes studies are systematized and analyzed. As a result, a single data base is created and allows detecting promising areas of residual and technological concentrations of uranium ore. The research findings allow extending service life of uranium deposits under development by in-situ leaching. The objects of the research are the production blocks that are mined-out or at the final stage of leaching. Some operating conditions of production blocks are discussed, such as unreasonably long filters installed in pump-out holes, frequent occurrence of ore at the filter bottom, irregular accessing patterns resulting in origination of dead spaces where residual and technological uranium concentrates. The methods to find, predict and estimate aspects of such concentration with a view to enhancing source of raw materials at uranium ore deposit are proposed.
