SUBSTANTIATION OF LIQUEFIED HYDROCARBON MIXTURE PIPELINE ROUTE FROM KOVYKTA GAS FIELD TO THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA

The review and analysis focus on the routes of a pipeline to transport hydrocarbons from Kovykta field to the People’s Republic of China (PRC). The key aspects are the transport of hydrocarbons (natural gas and gas condensate) in the form of a liquefied mixture and the export of hydrocarbons to PRC not via the Power of Siberia pipeline but using an individual route with the emphases made on the advantages of such choice. Ecological risks of alternative pipeline routes are analyzed, preliminary calculation of initial investment is performed, and anticipated economic effect from the viewpoint of gas supply program and development of gas industry in Russia is described. The process flow chart of preparing and delivering mixture of liquefied hydrocarbons by pipelines is presented. Stability of gas mixture is ensured by maintenance of certain regime during transportation—low temperature (from 40 to 50°C) and high pressure (12 MPa).
