ACCESSING PITWALL RESERVES IN UNDERGROUND MINING AND FEATURES OF VENTILATION

Features of rock pressure manifestations and ventilation in open pit and underground mines during hybrid mining impose specific requirements on accessing pitwall reserves. Based on these requirements, stage-wise flow charts of accessing and ventilation of coal beds from pitwalls are proposed. The first stage is exposure of the upper bed in a series, in the center and sides of the industrial infrastructure, with preparation of the reserves to mining down to a depth of the access road. Fresh air is fed by the main ventilation installation, via inclined air inlet shaft to the lower point of the mine field wherefrom air is distributed in ventilation objects. Return air flows in inclined shafts to the mined-out area of the open pit mine. At the second stage, the lower lying bed is accessed through the inclined shafts and cross-cuts from the upper bed of the series. Ventilation of the upper coal bed remains the same, the lower lying bed is aired by means of feeding fresh air to the lower point of the mining field using a cross-cut, after which air flows to ventilation objects. Return air from the mine is let out via inclined shafts to the mined-out area of the open pit. At the third and fourth stages, a vertical shaft is driven to the lower level of the mine field for the purpose of natural ventilation and optimization of the mine ventilation system parameters. Return air from the mine is let out via inclined shafts to the mined-out area of the open pit and ensures its efficient ventilation.
