EXPLOSION SAFETY PROCEDURE FOR WORKING AREAS IN COAL MINES

The review of the current regulatory framework for aerological support of coal mines discloses the absence of estimation and methodology basis conformal with the geological conditions, as well as the lack of systemic approach to aerological security. One of the key elements of coal mine ventilation design is the aerological risk assessment. The procedure to estimate and control aerological risk of accidents in working areas of coal mines is meant for mine personnel and ventilation design executors. The article presents the principles of aerological risk assessment and management, ranges of aerological risk, standard ventilation configurations for working areas and the aerological risk coefficients for each configuration under different geological conditions. The maximum values of the specific dust release and relative gas emission are found for each ventilation configuration for working areas in coal mines.
