FEATURES OF WELL ASSAYING DATA INTERPRETATION AT HIGHLY PROMISING HEAT ENERGY WATER RESERVOIRS

The influence of the technology of steam–water well assaying on the resultant well productivity curves is discussed. It is mentioned that in the Mutnovskoe hydrothermal field (Kamchatka, Russia), wells operate unstably under pressures determined as stable during assaying. The difference in operating efficiency of the wells under the same mouth pressure is explained by the change in the conditions downward from the mouth. During assaying, the change in the flow rate is stabilized under the response of the external pressure at the well mouth. This response is governed by hydraulic resistance of measuring equipment and by throttling of flow-regulating valve, which is used to set the required mouth pressure. The recommendations on acquiring adequate information about well productivity prospects based on assaying data are given. It is proposed to use the productivity curves obtained with throttling at the well mouth in order to determine a range of possible operating pressures to be conformable with the conditions of assaying at the constant mouth pressure. The engineering solutions on stable operation of wells are substantiated. Based on the theoretical and practical data, it is emphasized that the reduction in the internal section area of casing is the most efficient approach to maintain stable operation of wells. Furthermore, it is pointed at inadmissibility of conditions conformable with the negative value of the external mouth pressure derivative with respect to flow rate during transport of the heat-carrying agent from wells.
