The effect of volcanism on ore and coal formation in Mesozoic and Cenozoic ranges of southern Tain Shan is determined. The Meso- Cenozoic structural and material ranges in superimposed downfolds (taphro-geosynclines) are interesting as holders of caustobiolithes (combustible minerals). Ore content of such ranges was studied by the team of the Nonferrous, Rare and Noble Metals Laboratory headed by Academician U. Asanaliev. After the comprehensive research, it is found that the terrigenous carbon-bearing humid formation divides into rare and rare earth species, speckled formation—into nonferrous metals (Cu, Pb, Ag, Mu) as well as into oil, gas and sulfur. Neogene formations contain salt and gold placers. As a result of the implemented research, the schemes of the geological evolution and mineralization of Meso- and Cenozoic range in the Turkestan Altai are made (executers Skiba N.S., Turdukeev I.D., Shamshiev O., Shevkunov A.G. et al.). The coal content of the region under study was investigated by Kashirin F.T., Zubtsov E.N., Stankevich Yu.V., Kopylov B.V., Shabarov N.V., Solpuev T.S. and others. The analysis of the previous research findings shows that the revealed patterns of mineral occurrence are interpreted one-sidedly, and their mutual influence is neglected. That is to say, minerals could only be of magmatic, sedimentary or metamorphic genesis. For instance, the origin of coal and oil was only connected with the biochemical transformations of sedimentary rocks. Any phenomena of magmatism were assumed negative for the formation of causthobiolites. Detection of some nonferrous, rare and noble elements (Ag, Pb, Cu, U, V, Au, etc.) in carbon-bearing and coaly formations could hardly be explained. It is well-known that geological processes of internal dynamics (magmatism, metamorphism and tectonics) are tightly connected and interdependent. Moreover, they are interlinked with the geological processes of the external dynamics (weathering, etc.). The intrusive geological processes of magmatism are always accompanied by extrusive processes at the given locality or nearby. Accordingly, they have high influence on the formation of sedimentagenous structures holding certain types of minerals. Some issues of the metallogeny of Mesozoic and Cenozoic range in the studied area are only solvable with the comprehensive approach.
