An appreciable drop in price of hydrocarbons and, in particular, coal motivates improvement of energy efficiency of coal mining processes. This article analyzes cost indicators of coal on various world trading platforms. It should be noted that at present, coal prices continue to grow after a fairly large drawdown in 2014. This allows coal mining companies to allocate part of the funds for the development of modern technological solutions to improve energy efficiency of coal mining and processing. The increase in the cost of coal will also free up funds for the purchase of new high-performance equipment for both basic and auxiliary process flows. Reliable operation of the equipment also governs efficiency of coal mining. The main mine area to condition coal production is longwall, and it is required to pay specific attention to safety and efficiency of this area. This article presents a review of normative and actual performance indicators in a longwall in Polysaevskaya mine of SUEK-Kuzbass per standard month of operation. The studies of the presented indicators allowed determining specific parameters of longwall operation in the coal mine, which offered prerequisites for improving the mine efficiency and, thereby, production cost and net profit.
