Impact of technology factors on specific power demands of equipment in extraction districts of coal mines

This publication raises a question of setting rates of power demand in extraction districts of highly productive coal mines based on the developed factor space. Applicability of the benchmarking theory in the specific conditions of coal mines is considered. The factor space analysis produced the mathematical model of power consumption in a highly productive extraction district of a coal mine. Based on the cluster analysis with regard to the factor space, the functional chart is developed for an extraction district of highly productive coal mines. The mathematical model and functional chart can help analyze processes and interrelationship during underground coal mining, determined basic and secondary elements of the factor space and of the high-production process in an extraction district of a coal mine, which can enable optimization of power consumption parameters and reduction of mining cost. The article presents the test data obtained in a highly productive district of an operating coal mine. The tests were aimed to determine the actual parameters of specific power demand of the main process equipment and the total actual rate of power consumption in the extraction district at different travelling speeds of cutter–loader.
