Effect of structure and mining depth on hydraulic cutting velocity in rocks

The article presents the theoretical research data on slot cutting in rocks with a highpressure continuous water jet. The major identified influences on the rock cutting efficiency are the jointing and porosity of rocks, described in terms of the structural weakening coefficient (), permeability (k), their ratio (k/) and the mining depth (Н). The slot cutting velocity patterns subject to the mining depth and the structural weakening coefficient are obtained for the specific types of rocks, and the conformable graphs are constructed. Porosity exerts rather tangible effect on the velocity of hydraulic cutting in rocks.
