Analysis of systems for monitoring and controlling the operating parameters of mechanized complexes during shaft sinkers

At the initial stage of developing ore deposits, owners are faced with the fact that the time and cost of development working and pit-botton yards cast doubt on the viability of the development of this deposit as a whole, which leads to a decrease in the number of ore deposits involved in the development and explored ore reserves in the world. One of the most effective ways to reduce the construction time of a mine is to use mechanized shaft sinking machines of various types offered by various manufacturers. The article provides a comparative analysis of existing types of shaft sinkers and technologies, as well as effective performance correlations between penetration rate and various operating parameters of these powerful machines including schematics of their control systems. The use of mechanized shaft sinkers has shown a reduction in the construction time of the mine by more than three times compared with the drill-and-blast method. The article also describes the most widely used control systems for mechanized shaft sinkers, general difficulties in control systems and ways to solve them.

Keywords: shaft sinking machine, full-face cutting head, partial-face cutting drum, penetration rate of the shat sinking machine, raise boring, analogue-digital card, controller, Sequential Programmed System.
