Energy efficiency of electric machines with pneumatic tires in open pit mineral mining

Making minerals in an open way involves the use of vehicles of large carrying capacity and satisfactory mobility. As the practice shows these requirements, the air – wheeled dump trucks are fully satisfied, the traction drives of which can be implemented on heat or electric machines. The latter are more preferable due to their environmental friendliness. Unlike dump trucks with thermal engines requiring the placement of fuel on them, various power supply options are possible on electric vehicles: centralized, autonomous and combined. Each of these options has its own advantages and disadvantages, depending on both their schematic solutions and on the parameters of the career. To identify the influence of each of these factors on the energy consumption of a dump truck, it was necessary to conduct calculations for all power supply options. Moreover, the change in the quantitative indicators of one of the factors was carried out in conditions of the constancy of others. As the studied factors were the steepness of the rise in the road in the career and its length. The calculations carried out showed that the energy consumption for the movement of a dump truck with all power supply variants is practically unchanged. Another group of factors were sources of electric energy, which were the batteries and capacitors of the double electric layer – ionistors. The results of the studies showed the feasibility of using batteries, since they have less mass – body indicators.
