Mathematical model of material flow analysis at asbestos mining and processing plant

Material flows at a large mining and processing plant involved in extraction of chrysotile–asbestos and gabbro–basalt mineral groups are analyzed. Specifics of functioning of production and transportation systems are discussed. The types of production in the structure of the mining and processing plant, as well as the charts of performance and interaction of production units are determined. Material flows and cargo traffic are systematized, and their classification signs are identified. The volumes of material flows and cargo traffic, and their percentages in the overall freight hauling are calculated. The transportation flow chart of material flows and cargo traffic at the test plant are examined. Material flows and cargo traffic are classified by the types of cargo, transport and production, function, and regularity and continuity signs. It is also found that recently developing associate productions need novel logistics. An improved procedure of evaluating cargo traffic using coefficients of material consumption is proposed. The framework is created for the cargo traffic formation and for determining production and transportation resources at mines.
