Substantiation of frame mine design for underground mining of the Jerooy stockwork-type deposit with heterogeneous patterns of gold distribution in ore

For the mining conditions at the Jerooy stockwork-type gold deposit, using a frame mine structure, the authors substantiate parameters of open stoping with subsequent backfill. The created 3D model of an underground mine area with stopes helps represent patterns of gold distribution in ore, with regard to gold content, on a color scale. The parameters of stopes are substantiated with regard to ore and rock mass quality, and effective stresses in rock mass using the Mathews–Potvin method. The results of the numerical stress–state modeling of a mine frame structure are described. The sequence of stoping in the frame structure mine, with regard to the market conditions and gold price is shown. The research results possess a scientific novelty connected with the developed flowcharts of mining, which allow safe and efficient extraction of ore reserves, and enable wide-face and non-sequential mining operations both in horizontal and vertical directions, with alternated extraction of ore reserves with high and low content of gold.

Keywords: open stope mining, frame mine structure, stope, cemented paste backfill and paste backfill, Mathews–Potvin method, hydraulic radius of exposure, heterogeneous pattern of gold distribution in ore.
