A framework for the information technology platform for operations and facilities management in mines

In industry, automation and informatization together with digitization become equally efficient and important as acquisition of a new production line or construction of a new shopfloor as they ensure demandable flexibility, sustainability and competitive capacity on the world market. This article presents a framework for the information technology platform for automated corporate management system for operations and facilities in surface and underground mining. Advancement of information systems in the mining industry depends on the availability of an automated positioning and communication system methodology capable to provide swift, reliable and objective information on operations and process flows under control. The reported data have been obtained at the Kunaev Mining Institute, a division of the National Center for Integrated Processing of Mineral Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan during the grantsupported research in 2018–2020. The principles and procedure of a unified IT platform of operations and facilities control are defined by the approved management approach based on the process and corporate management technologies. This imposes certain requirements on structuring and detailing of information flows to be in compliance with requirement of specification on the level of operations included in process flows under control.

Keywords: mine transport facilities, process control, technical and economic analysis, mine information system, automated positioning and communication systems, automated control system, technological modernization.
