Use of centrifugal concentration in by-recovery of gold in diamond-bearing sand processing at Almazy Anabara

Potential increment in extraction of fine and very fine gold by the method of centrifugal concentration in by-recovery of gold in diamond-bearing sand processing at Almazy Anabara has been studied. The tests used the centrifugal vibratory concentrator earlier designed at the Institute of Mining of the North, Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences. As against the existing analogs, this machine generates vibrations directed along its rotation axis. Efficiency of this centrifugal vibratory concentrator was compared with performance of centrifugal concentrator ITOMAK KN-0,1 which concurrently fluidizes the forming mineral bed with water inflow via orifices in the walls of the operating element. The production data of the proposed gold processing technology are calculated using the yield of the shallow filling gateways at a production site of Almazy Anabara as per VNII-1 manual. From the test results, the actual gold recovery obtained with the proposed processing technology in shallow filling gateway is 41.1%. Gold yields of the centrifugal vibratory concentrator of the Institute of Mining of the North and concentrator ITOMAK KN-0,1 make 92.8% and 46.5%, respectively.
