Trends in artificial intelligence and robotics technologiesin the Arctic: the Russian experience

Artificial intelligence (AI) allows computers to learn from their own experience, solve hard-to-formalize tasks, and adapt to new parameters and conditions. In most cases, deep learning and natural language processing capabilities are extremely important for solving AI tasks. Thanks to these technologies, computers can be “taught” to identify patterns based on the processing of large amounts of data and use them to make decisions. The study analyses trends and prospects for the introduction of AI and robotics in the Arctic zone belonging to the Russian Federation (AZRF). Its aim is to identify the directions that the digitalization of the Arctic region should move in, determine what already needs to be implemented for the development of this part of the Earth, on which the future of the country largely depends. The study is based on the history and applications of AI and robotics in the Russian Arctic, taking into account the state of the environment and the environmental situation of this region.
