Education: Graduated cum laude from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics at the Novosibirsk State University in 1979 

Academic degree: Doctor of Physics and Mathematics (2000); specialties: 01.02.04. Deformable Solid Mechanics and 01.02.07: Rock Mechanics 

Area of research expertise: Mechanics of rocks and geomaterials, development and verification of geomechanical models for natural and anthropogenic objects of different scale, heat and mass transfer in rock mass, inverse problems and back analysis.

Membership: International Society for Rock Mechanics—ISRM, National Committee of Russia on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics 

Publications: Author of more than 150 publications, including 5 monographs and a textbook.
