Graduated from the Chita Polytechnic Institute in 1976. Since 1976 has been working at the Mining Faculty of the Chita Polytechnic Institute. In 1982 completed his postgraduate studies at the Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute.

Technology and process flowsheets for safe open pit re-mining appraisal of mineral loss in the zones of rock mass displacements (has created a new appraisal procedure). 

 

As Dean of the Mining Faculty since 1988, Director of the Mining Institute since 1997 and, again, Dean of the Mining Faculty since 2011, P. Avdeev has trained more the 2000 specialists in the sphere of mineral mining and geology.
